Jim Kennedy - Co-Owner
Jim Kennedy is the co-owner of McLaughlin & Associates Thermal Spray Specialists, where he leads with a commitment to precision, professionalism, and strategic growth.
With a strong background in expanding service offerings, Jim plays a pivotal role in positioning the company as a versatile and reliable partner in the industry.
Known for his exceptional communication skills and proactive leadership, Jim excels at building lasting professional relationships and anticipating client needs.
He works closely with his business partner, Brandon, whose machining and fabrication experience complements their shared vision for innovation and collaboration.
Together, they are driving the evolution of McLaughlin Thermal Spray into a full-service solution provider.
Jim’s current focus includes refining client engagement strategies, introducing himself personally to new clients, and fostering trust through clarity and responsiveness.
His long-term goal is to establish McLaughlin Thermal Spray as a benchmark for excellence in industrial coatings and surface technologies.
In 2024, Jim and his business partner, Brandon Fouch, acquired McLaughlin & Associates, a company headquartered in Arcadia, Indiana. Together, they are driving the strategic expansion of the business, building on decades of industry expertise.
Jim brings a diverse and comprehensive background spanning thermal spray technologies, industrial coatings, aviation, ground-based turbines, welding, fabrication, fans, pumps, machining, manufacturing, and product design.
His leadership and technical acumen have been instrumental in advancing innovation and operational excellence across multiple sectors.
Career Highlights:
• Operations Manager for a Large Rotating Equipment Company’s thermal spray & industrial coatings division
Led the launch and development of the division over 11 years, establishing it as a key contributor to the company’s service offerings.
• Manager, FAA-Certified Repair Station
Oversaw operations for 16 years, specializing in advanced coating applications for aviation components and ground-based turbines.
• Manager, Industrial Fan Manufacturing Company
Directed production and operations, ensuring quality and efficiency in custom fan solutions.
Jim has co-authored two industry articles focused on thermal spray applications and sustainability initiatives within the pump repair sector, contributing thought leadership to the field.
Personal Background: Jim resides in Kirklin, Indiana, with his wife of 30 years. They are proud parents of four grown children and grandparents to six.
Outside of work, Jim enjoys playing in a band, camping, and motorcycle riding—pursuits that reflect his energetic and creative spirit.
Ashley Eddelman - Office Manager
Ashley started her career in the administrative field back in 2008, and in 2014, she found her niche in the thermal spray and industrial coatings industry. She began as an office assistant at a family-owned shop, working under Jim — a mentor who quickly became like family. Over time, Ashley worked her way up to Administrative Coordinator for that division, gaining hands-on experience and a deep understanding of the industry.
In December 2021, Ashley joined McLaughlin & Associates Thermal Spray, stepping into a dual role as Sales Specialist and Office Manager. She’s the one behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly — from quotes and orders to delivery coordination and customer communication.
She’s passionate about simplifying the customer experience and making sure every client feels informed, supported, and genuinely cared for. Whether it’s driving sales growth, supporting sustainability efforts, or refining marketing strategies, Ashley brings a personal touch to everything she does.
Outside of work, Ashley lives in Franklin, Indiana with her husband Rick and their two youngest children, Ricky and Charley. She’s also a proud mom to Laci, who serves in the U.S. Navy, and Kindre, a talented tattoo artist and soon-to-be mom of three. Family is everything to Ashley — she loves spending time with her grandbabies, going fishing, listening to music, tattoos & going Florida when they can get a chance.
Scott McLaughlin - Consultant
Scott founded McLaughlin & Associates in 2008 & will be available for consulting on an as needed basis.
